Joe Cole is the new President of the Hemophilia Foundation of Southern California. He lives in Santa Barbara and has been married for 20 years to Susan Cole, a speech pathologist. They have three children: Jeffrey, 16, Allison, 14, and Miles, 6, who has severe hemophilia A. Joe is the President of a diversified investment and media company, which includes the Santa Barbara News-Press, a 150-year-old daily newspaper where he is Publisher. He holds a journalism degree from Ventura College, a business degree in finance from USC and a law degree from University of California, Hastings College of the Law.

Over the last 25 years, Joe has advised, as a director or corporate lawyer, a broad range of public, private or non-profit corporations. In addition to HFSC, Joe’s community service as a non-profit director and officer includes the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara, the Wendy McCaw Foundation, the Oxnard Police Officer’s Memorial Foundation, the Montecito Educational Foundation, the Santa Barbara Water Polo Foundation, the Santa Barbara Zoo, Surgical Eye Expeditions International, and the Santa Barbara Symphony. He spends most of his free time driving his kids to their sporting events, which include water polo, volleyball, and soccer. He also enjoys mountain biking along the trails above Santa Barbara and playing bass in a band.
