The Hemophilia Foundation of Southern California is a 501(c)(3)
non-profit, publicly supported organization. Contributions to the Foundation are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Here are some ways you may consider contributing:

Make a Donation

A gift of cash is the easiest way of giving to Hemophilia Foundation of Southern California. Simply make your check payable to the Hemophilia Foundation of Southern California and mail it to 6720 Melrose Ave, Ste. 102, Hollywood, CA 90038. This directs your gift to be recorded and receipted promptly. Please include a short note with your check stating the purpose or designation of your gift or you may note this on the memo line of your check. Without designation your gift will be recorded as unrestricted for use as determined by Hemophilia Foundation of Southern California’s Board of Directors.

A “Tributes” card honors someone on birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, promotions, retirements, holidays and other special occasions. Please call the Foundation for more information on this method of special recognition.

It’s easy just fill out a donation form from provided by Cars 4 Causes at their website at www.cars4causes.net or contact Cars 4 Causes at 1-800-766-CARE (2273). Just provide them with general information on the vehicle that will be donated, and tell them that you want to donate it to us. They accept most intact vehicles whether they are running or not. No smog certificate is required.
Cars for Causes will tow all vehicles at no charge to you, as well as complete all DMV paperwork. Vehicles are prepared for sale by completing minor repairs, maintenance and detailing, then sold with the proceeds going to us. You will receive a Kelly Blue Book evaluation to aid in the determination of the fair market value of the vehicle, a thank you letter, and a donation receipt to be used for your taxes. If the value of your vehicle is $5,000 or more and you donate your vehicle to Cars 4 Causes, they will pay for the appraisal needed by the IRS. Everybody’s tax situation is different, so consult with your tax professional to determine how your donation will benefit you.

Many corporations encourage employees to participate in philanthropic opportunities by matching, doubling, or even tripling each dollar they contribute to the Hemophilia Foundation of Southern California. Your company's personnel department can provide details and the matching gift form to include with your gift check.

Focusing on the donation of time and talent, the Volunteer, Program, at the Hemophilia Foundation of Southern California is managed through the efforts of the Foundation staff and provides for the development and administration of volunteers within all of the foundation’s programs and services.
Volunteers are valued members of HFSC. Annually, hundreds of volunteers contribute their time and talents to our endeavors. The importance of volunteers cannot be over emphasized, for it is the collective effort of our volunteers, staff, and donors that enables us to offer essential services to the bleeding disorders community.

Hemophilia Foundation of Southern California is proud to be a member of Community Health Charities, a federation of over 150 voluntary health agencies in California. Community Health Charities manages and participates in workplace giving campaigns in both the public and private sectors. Each year companies and public entities across California offer their employees this opportunity to give by means of a simple, efficient payroll deduction.
If your company is in the private sector and in a state other than California and participates in workplace donations through Community Health Charities, you may contribute to the Hemophilia Foundation of Southern California as a write-in. Please contact us for more information.

A bequest is a gift made through a will or living trust. Hemophilia Foundation of Southern California is often named beneficiary in the wills and living trusts of many families and friends. Bequests may be stated as a percentage of the estate, as the residual of the estate or a specific dollar amount. Since a will can be changed, no income tax benefits are associated with a bequest; however, the donor's estate is reduced by the amount of the bequest for estate tax purposes.
The drafting of your will or living trust should be arranged with your attorney. Foundation representatives are available to confer with you and your attorney in drafting the appropriate bequest clauses.

The Blood Brothers and Sisters wristbands symbolize the love and support we have for the hemophilia community. Show your support by being a blood brother/sister and purchasing your own wristband, you will be making a big difference in these children's lives. The wristbands will be maroon, and will be on sale for limited time only so take advantage and purchase your wristband right now while supplies last.

In the fall, we teamed up with Ralphs Grocery Store in an innovative program to help support our Foundation. When participating members shop at Ralphs, we receive from Ralphs 4-5% of every purchase. There is no cost to you or us! If you wish to participate, simply mail, email, or call us with your complete, 13- digit Ralphs Club Card number and the associated name, address, and phone number that Ralphs has on file. Please participate in this terrific fundraiser and join us in sending a heartfelt "thank you" to the Ralphs Community Contribution Program.
